Vincent approaches every film as a world requiring its own musical identity.
A Sundance Composer Fellowship alumnus, he has scored films spanning intimate drama, comedy, thriller, horror, romantic comedy, and documentary, earning ten Best Score awards, including the SUISA Prize presented at the Locarno International Film Festival.
His credits include Anahita Ghazvinizadeh’s They, a Cannes Camera d’Or nominee; Don’t Look at the Demon, starring Fiona Dourif and Harris Dickinson; Tencent/Fox International’s Chinese romantic comedy No Marriage; the thriller Failure!, starring Ted Raimi; and the intimate Southern comedy The Fox Hunter, starring Madison Iseman.
Classically trained at the Geneva Conservatory, where he graduated with the highest distinctions, Vincent went on to graduate summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music, where he studied jazz guitar and film scoring. He also grew up playing progressive rock and metal guitar. Rather than imposing this eclectic background on a film, he draws from it as a vocabulary from which each project can develop its own musical identity.
That search has led to the hesitant toy xylophone of They, the tortured symphonic orchestra and choir of Don’t Look at the Demon, the exuberant string quintet and banjo of The Fox Hunter, the freaky electronic soundscape of Come Clean, the tongue-in-cheek songs of No Marriage, and the haunting melodies of Mermaid. The common thread is not a particular style, but the search for a musical language that grows out of each film.
